Fresher's Reception 2024
We are happy to welcome our new members (18 new faces!) for Fall 2024 at the BSA Fresher's Reception. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make it a success. To our new students: we wish you all the best in your studies and campus life.
On September 4, 2024, the Bangladeshi Students Association (BSA) actively participated in UIC's Involvement Fair 2024, a vibrant campus event showcasing student organizations and campus departments. The fair, held on the University Hall Lawn, provided an excellent opportunity for BSA to connect with potential new members and highlight Bangladeshi culture and community to the diverse UIC student body.

Urgent Appeal for Justice, Civil Rights and Democracy in Bangladesh
We, the Bangladeshi Students Association at the University of Illinois Chicago (BSA-UIC), alongside Bangladeshi students enrolled in various universities across the United States, unequivocally denounce the violent actions taken against Bangladeshi students and citizens by the current regime, which has tragically claimed the lives of over 100 individuals.
On May 12, 2024, the BSA’s annual summer picnic took place at Montrose Beach in Chicago. The event was organized by BSA Executive Committee (2024-2025). It was a delightful success, filled with laughter and enjoyment. The day was filled with vibrant activities and delicious food.
Bengali new year ("Pahela Baishakh") is celebrated worldwide on the 14th of April by more than 300 million people. In congruence, Bangladeshi Students Association (BSA) observed the beginning of the Bengali year 1430 on 22nd April 2023 at UIC.
This celebration portrayed the rich culture and traditions of thousands of years old Bangliana.
General body meeting & Freshers Reception - Fall 2022
In September 2022, BSA held its General Body Meeting for the Fall semester at UIC, welcoming newly joined graduate and undergraduate students. The meeting was an important gathering for the members to discuss upcoming matters related to the academic year.
In July 2022, BSA hosted its yearly summer picnic at Montrose beach in Chicago. The event was a huge success as over 40 members of our organization gathered to enjoy a splendid day on the North Avenue beach, engaging in fun sports and indulging in scrumptious Bengali cuisine.
Bengali new year ("Pahela Baishakh") is celebrated worldwide on 14th April by more than 300 million people. In congruence, we are observing the beginning of the Bengali year 1429 on 23 April, 2022.
This celebration will portray the rich culture and traditions of thousands of years old Bangliana. We will enjoy Bengali music performances while tasting the amazing Bengali food.
BSA made a strong presence at the Fall Involvement Fair in September 2021. We organized both in-person and virtual booths disseminating the activities of our organization representing Bangladeshi students within the UIC community. We connected with several undergrad and graduate students interested in BSA.
BSA celebrated its annual summer picnic in July 2021. We spent an amazing day on the sands of North avenue beach. More than 40 members of our organization joined us in the celebration with fun sports and delicious Bengali food.
General body meeting - Fall 2021
BSA organized its General body meeting of Fall 2021 semester at UIC on September 2021. We welcomed the newly joined graduate and undergraduate students of our organization.
BSA observed International Mother Language Day to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity at UIC on February 22, 2020. We commemorated the sacrifice of the language martyrs in fighting for their mother tongue.
